If you live within 10 miles of any of the four towns and know of a particularly beautiful wooded area near you would you please post. I like narrow roads with curves for viewing. Thanks.

It doesn't get any better than the Natchez Trace.

Pretty much any county road is good for leaf-peepin'. The Trace just rocks!

I'm used to New England Fall displays where the colors are so upside-yer-head bright that they can really distract you from driving. Nice down here, too as the season lasts much longer and is very pretty in a more mellow kind of way. New England Fall colors usually only last a week or two before Ol' Man Winter rolls in and everything turns gray.

In the spirit of neutality, I think I will take Hwy 72W to the Trace turn right up the trace until I run into Hwy 8, turn left, and drive until I have had enough - then come back! RP, I have always wanted to do the leaf thing in Vermont or a cruise. There has always been a reason I could not make a reservation that far ahead. I know it is beautiful!

Don't put it off! My cousin in New Hampshire has tried for years to get me to come visit him while the leaves were peaking, and i could never quite manage it.
He died a few weeks ago.

Before you get to Minor Hill turn right at the bottom of the hill, go out to Appleton, on to Peach Beach and to Mt.Zion. That is a great ride this time of year. You can make a circle and end up back on the Rabbit Trail Road almost to Bonnertown. Head back to Florence on 64 right at Grassy.
