Top Down Beemer and I are pleased to announce our forthcoming relocation to Huntsville. We'll be putting Southern California in our rear view mirrors on around the 23rd of October and are scheduled to move into our house in Huntsville on the first of November.

Therefore, any news you may wish about Southern California will have to come from someone else. TDB has made contact with a number of her Muscle Shoals HS friends on Facebook and you may monitor her progress from there. I'll be continuing to post, until I am inevitably banned, from where ever I happen to be.

It'll be nice to get away from tofu and Perrier and back to concealed firearms and all-you-can-eat catfish dinners at the volunteer fire department. The church thing may become a bit weird, but I'll adapt. I'm principally interested in a church with a men's or mixed adult softball team. I'll work the rest out later.

Hopefully, a M&G may happen. I'll have to travel a bit to see some of my TDF friends, but that's hardly an inconvenience for the pleasure of certain people's company.

Look forward to seeing some of you. Others...not so much.

Okay, but in addition to the concealed firearms and all-you-can-eat catfish dinners, you will have to get adjusted to billions of mosquitos and humidity that rivals what's experienced in the Mississippi Delta. And if you start missing the California lifestyle, WIP will bring you a veggie burger to the M&G.

Hope your move is a safe one, Zip! Smiler

Trust me, WIPster, I'll never miss it THAT badly. I do, however, pay attention to your dietary advice. Thank you for that; and thank you for your kind wishes.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!
Believe me, about the ONLY thing I'll miss about CA is the lack of bugs...the proliferation of two-legged insects and creepy crawlies cancels out the lack of the real ones though. Big Grin

Irish, I grew up in Muscle Shoals and spent the majority of my adult life, minus the last 7 years spent here, in the south so I actually miss the humidity. Here your skin always feels dry, scaly and itchy regardless of how much moisturizer you use. I will be more than happy to leave that and so many other distasteful things behind.

I certainly understand that. Dry, itchy skin is no good. And as much as I complain about traffic in the Birmingham area, I'm sure it's nothing compared to what you guys have to deal with in California.

Welcome home!

You are right. You haven't been truly tortured until you endure rush hour traffic in Los Angeles. This morning was no exception. Over 45 minutes to drive less than 25 miles, most of it on freeways with 5 lanes, but those 5 lanes are totally packed.
