Sounds like you had a ringside seat! My Mom used to live on the backside of Magnolia Gardens, 7th floor, and it was also a ringside seat. Good memories |

My grandmother lived on the 5th floor. I thought about that tonight. It was a ringside seat!!! It was tradition to go to her apartment and watch the fireworks every year. Saltie - I bet you did have a ringside seat!!!! Next year, we're coming to your house. |

LOL...BYOR? My grandmother was also on the 5th floor, but that was in the 80's. And technically my Mom lived on the frontside of the building since the front faced Magnolia 1 and the backside faced downtown. |

The topic is online degrees. You gals are going to need to give the latitude and longtitude of your viewing venues if you continue on the fireworks subject! Please f0rgive me, I could not resist!

BTW - My grandmother at Magnolia Gardens did not have an online degree. LOL Hahaha Back on topic. What would possess someone to get a bogus degree? |

Just a guess, but I'd say they have some basic security problems, self-image, etc. Or they might think they could get a better job.
If I might ask, who are we talking about? |

hey, MY grandmother at Magnolia Gardens didn't have an online degree, either. And they both lived on the 5th floor! You don't think??....nahhhh.....too weird...lol |

If you did not sit through endless hours of boring lectures, until both your brain and you butt were numbed, scrifice a little blood, sweat and tears, plus sleep deprivation...you don't have a REAL degree. That's my story and I'm sticking to it... American by birth, Southern by the grace of God. |

Shel,
I agree. The last time I went to college, I applied myself and went to every lecture. Most were worthwhile, some were not. It was a lot of work. I graduated well. The lecture/question-and-answer system might be old fashioned, but it works well, and there is no better preparation for an exam like it. DF |

I wish it had fit my screen.
I could use a degree from MIT. DF EDIT: Oh, wait... there we go. |

Blackacre,
I don't have near your time in but when I took instrumentation back at UNA (circa 1800s), lab time was used as lecture for the first 6 weeks. It was 5 hours of continuous lecture after having 3 hours that morning. I literally felt like passing out after each session. If someone tried to 'pass off' an online degree, I'd shred the thing to mulch then stomp on it. If you want a degree, you have to give blood, sweat and tears, in large quantities. |

Now I KNOW I'm gonna have nightmares! 5 hours??? As a business major I had to have a couple of sciences (I think I took Earth Science and Chemistry then some I.H. classes for fun...imagine that!). A couple had labs and they were always fun. Of course, they didn't ruin it like that for us with the 5 hours of lecture. Ouch! |
