That's where I bought a law degree.

Seriously, it's a problem. If you see someone who claims a PhD and they aren't using it in their daily lives (unless retired), it raises questions about their innate honesty. In other words, don't buy a used car from them.

Do you realize the first person to "confer" a doctoral degree DIDN'T have one...??

American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.

I'm not aware of that at all. Why does that follow?

perhaps the first board of enquiry that awarded a traditional PhD was attended by those who deserved one in the absence of the honor having been invented before.

Did Isaac Newton have a PhD?

Rev. PuF,

I congratulate you on your hard-won accomplishment.

Now, if only Kent Hovind had half the sense of a brass monkey wrench, instead of a PhD from a Florida trailer park diploma mill, your well deserved degree would not be diminished by outright frauds and callous, profiteering liars.

In 1987 my mentor, who was also an ordained minister, had me ordained through the Lighthouse Freedom Church of Baton Rouge.

I was ordained in the Right Reverend Church of the SubGenius in 1989.

Y'all may now call me the Right Reverend Dr. DeepFat With Honor and Grace.

But what about the post about her husband's cousin who left out the reply to your post about your husband's mom, most worthy as she is, but irrespective her ideas of Keynesian economics, most recently in fashion, notwithstanding the "Rev" Jesse Jackson's inability to pronounce the word "Keynesian" and the mutability of the Swine Flu virus, aka N1H1, vis a vis the economics of sales tax competition?
