Hi to my Forum Friends,
While I try to stay out of the political arena as much as possible and concentrate on sharing the Gospel; there are times when we Christians must speak out loud and clear. My Friends, like the Meredith Wilson musical, "Music Man" -- we have "trouble in River City." As Professor Harold Hill sang to the good folks of River City: Well, either you're closing your eyes To a situation you do now wish to acknowledge Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated By the presence of a pool table in your community. Ya got trouble, my friend, right here, I say, trouble right here in River City. Yes, folks, we have great trouble right here in River City -- but, our River City is America. And, our trouble is much greater than the pool table which Robert Preston (Professor Harold Hill) sang about in Music Man. Our trouble is a president who is doing all he can, as fast as he can -- to not only throw the Bible out of America; but, to stomp on it as he is throwing it out. Hi Nash, When your wife comes in wearing the world's ugliest dress -- and asks your opinion of it; you have your 1st Amendment right which allows you to tell her it makes you want to vomit -- but, common sense and fear of the frying pan in her hand makes you say the prudent thing. Mr. Obama, as the occupant of the Oval Office, has the 1st Amendment right to say what he likes -- but, he is, for now, the leader of this nation -- a Christian nation which honors marriage between one man and one woman. What he says affects not only the fringe minorities he supports -- but, all Americans. And, the majority of Americans still believe in God -- and honor God and the Bible. Regardless of what the atheists, secularists, and some liberals believe -- America is not a homosexual nation; it is a Christian nation. However, if Mr. Obama has his way -- it will be a homosexual state-nation governed by the United Nations. I can see why the atheists and secularists want to see Same-Sex marriage made the law of the land -- for that would be one more nail in the coffin of the Bible and Christianity in America. And, I can see why many liberals support this -- for they do not believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. I cannot fault any of you for your desire to see the Bible buried; since it hampers your religious beliefs. However, I can implore other Christian believers to stand up and defend our Christian rights in our Christian nation. And, that is why I have begun this discussion -- to make other Christian believers aware of he "sell-out" job Obama is doing on America. He is selling out to those who would bring down America. Yes, the majority of this country claims Christianity. It's not a Christian theocracy as you claim. This country was founded so that anyone can worship or not worship as they wish.
This is a free country, Obama is free to make his statement and you're free to disagree. That's how freedom works. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator........
It does not say by God, Allah, Bhagwan, Shoghi Effendi, Shangdi, ect. Their Creator is self explanatory. Your belief is not necessary the belief of the person standing next to you. So it seems as if you want to trample the DoI. Y.B.Y.S.A.I.A |

Hi Nash, Yes, we all have the 1st Amendment right of free speech -- but, we also have a responsibility to use it with respect and with prudence. He, as president, must recognize that he represents ALL Americans -- not just the fringe few. And, you, leaning more toward the liberal left -- I would not expect you to hold the Bible in the same high respect as a conservative Christian. To you, apparently it is not the Written Word of God -- but only a book. Yet, to we conservative Christians -- Obama is spitting into the face of all Christians and stomping on our Bible. This is a nation with many Christians, not a Christian nation. They are NOT the same thing no matter how much you try and make it so.
Obviously, homosexuals who desire to marry do not agree with your views. Please explain to me how a civil (note that word) marriage between homosexuals has any material effect on you.
Is Christianity so weak that unless people are forced to follow a particular tenant it is doomed? It is not an attack on Christianity when someone doesn't follow its teachings. It is also not an attack when the government allows people to do things Christianity doesn't approve of. Our constitution protects all religious beliefs, not just one.
It is not Obama who wishes to bring down America, it is people like you. You would impose your particular religious views on everyone contrary to the constitution and even God himself. God does not force anyone to believe, why are you so insistent on doing so? |

Actually, it you who are being childish. Out of a random 1000 people, there will probably be a number of non-Christians. A muslim would say Allah, a hindu Brahma, a native American Creator, an atheist Nothing, and a Buddhist something else still. You are so wrapped up in your religion that you cannot seem to conceive that others hold equally deeply held and valid (to them) beliefs. Since yours is the Truth(tm), everyone else must also see it. It is simply not so. |

Hi Nash, There is a great difference between being a political liberal -- and being a liberal Christian. Some conservatives Christians stray into the liberal political side and sit on the left. But, praise God, not too many. In your views of Christianity, you do tend to lean toward the liberal left. The same with you views of the Bible; you seem to always disagree with it. So, I draw the conclusion that you sit on the liberal left side of the church. Either, it is that -- or that you will, just by rote, disagree with anything I write. Maybe you can clarify that for me.
