Anyone know what the strange columns are that are in a pasture near cloverdale? Im not sure of the road name or anything, but I have seen these things a few times and I am curious about their story. Any info would be appreciated.

I wonder if you are speaking of the Forks of Cypress? The columns are what is left of a mansion that was on a large plantation. Unfortunately it was struck by lightning and all but the columns burned. A slave house remained for years, but also was burned down later by arsonists, *I think*.

The Regions bank in downtown Florence (was AmSouth) is a replica of the Forks.

The "Forks" is not in Cloverdale but its easy to get turned around out in the county.

Those are what I was talking about, I have wondered about them for a long time. Thanks for all of the info. Sorry about the Cloverdale reference throwing people off.. I think anything out that way is Cloverdale Wink

I have personally witnessed some strange events near the forks and ghost bride maybe it was just inagination but all the people that was with me also seen and heard the same things on several occasions we seen floating lights in the fields and on one occassion we heard the sounds of soldiers marching.

I have heard stories of a light somewhere else about light that would come towards the car when stopped ang get larger as it moves closer then disappear right before it gets to you. has anyone heard of this

onecrazymomma-I have had some experiences near Ghost Bridge as well. Since I have seen things, I have not gotten the courage to go back. I saw the floating lights coming towards me and my friend. She saw the same thing...it just disappeared as we stood there. They were coming from a THICk part of the woods by ghost bridge. I would love to explore it again, though..even though it is private property!

yes macy I would love to check it out again and take my husband. He just says i'm crazy. It would be nice if the owner of the property would designate a few nights a year for people to explore and witness what we have but i'm sure the fear of vandalism keeps him from doing so
