I was wondering if there are any mommy groups that meet on a regular basis? I'm a stay at home mom that would like to talk about something other than The Backyardagins and Thomas the Train every now and then!

That would be great if there was something like that... Maybe we should start one.. what age do you have? Mine is 3! He loves to go to the park and we do that once a week at least.... There is preschool time at Forrest Jumps that might be something.. It is only $4.oo!

I will ask around. In Birmingham, when my girls were little, I belonged to a group in my neighborhood. We would go to the Museum for lunch, had shopping dates, garden tours, and a book club. Every little thing helped. My girls are 18 months apart and I was worn out for 4 years. Finally I went back to work to get some rest.

Our church provided daycare once every two weeks for this purpose. My mother in law would also baby sit. My dear husband even sat for me a few times.

There is a group that meets through First Methodist in Florence called MOPS--which stands for mothers of preschoolers. In the newsletter it says they are starting on Sept. 4th. Here is the e-mail address: mops@fumcflorence.org

My kids are 4 and 2 1/2. It would be great if we had a few moms that we could start a group! I'm going to look into MOPS too.

I tried looking into the MOPS and couldn't pull anything up. That sounds very interesting. I have a 2 year old son who is in daycare 3 days a week and I have recently quit my job to stay home. I would love to get together with other mommies in the area for playdates, someone really should start something like that around here!!!!

ok I say we start our own group! I'm willing to get it started if you all can help me find mommies! If anyone is interested let me know. Suggestions on places to go and any days that are better for you all are appreciated! Contact me asap so we can try to get together sometime soon!

My kids go to prescool too and today was my first day to myself! I had 4 hours to do what ever I wanted!! It was so refreshing!

I am the coordinator of the MOPS group that meets at Florence First United Methodist. We would love to have you be a part of our group!
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)is for moms w/ children age birth through kindergarten. We meet the first Thurs. of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the FUMC Atrium. Our next meeting will be Oct. 2.
