I am new to the Shoals area and so far enjoying my time getting settled here. Are their any women's groups around here to join. It's so hard making friends in a new place.
If you hear of any, let me know. I have been here 2 years and really haven't "connected". I have met ladies at church and am in a sewing club at Ken's Sewing Center (at 35, I am by far the youngest one in the class!) But for the most part, I don't have a close connection here.
Just moved back after a 20 year hiatus and I don't know of any... though I'd love too.
At 37, I've at least got my fellow hairstylists to communicate with... and some high school friends that I'm suppose to hang out with soon. I'm seriously worried about my social life atm. *sigh*
I'm not active in a church currently myself, though I am Christian... tried a couple local ones, I miss my non-denominational Community Church in Nashville. Great sound system.... Great music... 1000's of people... Great bible study.
It'll work out, I'm sure of it... I think.

A nice outlet at minimum... though, it could be so much more.

Anytime you all want to get together for dinner or drinks, I'm in! I can introduce you guys to some nice peeps around town. I wish there were other women who liked to play poker because I would love to have a poker night. That would be so much fun.

I am the president of the Florence Jaycees. For those who don't know anything about jaycees, we are a young person's organization from ages 18-40. We do a lot of community events and fun events. We're not all women but mostly. Just recently (this past sat) we had a picnic at Riverfront park in Sheffield...had a great ole time....if anyone's interested..let me know. Have a great week.
Hey, Julie. This section of the forum doesn't get a lot of attention, but it's nice to have you aboard. I understand you work for TM? We have probably met before.

Hello everyone. I am also looking for a group! Is there anyone still out there ? I just moved to Florence. Things get pretty boring with just me and my baby! He better be an early talker because he is the only person I ever see! Julie
Julie, this is pretty much a women's group, for real. Once you figure out who is who the women are like cousins! Manda's got a small child, so does a lot of the girls.
I don't own a computer, I rarely get to use one. I was hoping for more of an actual group rather than an online one. Maybe once I get a computer I could check back more often.
Hello, delavick. vick13 started a thread for you under Miscellaneous. It is titled "Hey, forum gals" if you'd like to hear the responses.
I'll do some snooping & get back with y'all on women's groups. The only one I can thing of off the top of my head is the Bible Study group that meets once a week. I have never been but I know ladies that go & really enjoy it.

delavick. When you get back to a computer go to CafeMom. There is a shoals area moms group. I am sure you could make contact with some of the ladies there and exchange info about how to keep in touch outside of the cyber world. The group is new so you haven't missed much. here is the link
