"From our perspective, we won last night," the California Democrat told reporters during a Wednesday photo op. "We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War. And we won that seat. So, from our standpoint, no, a candidate was victorious who supports health care reform, and his remarks last night said this was a victory for health care reform and other initiatives for the American people."
The long and short of it is the dems can't get people to show up if Obama isn't on the ballot. 2010 will be ugly because the angry people are sure as heck going to show up.

Yeah, paradips, but your opinion is about as useful as a bucket of warm spit. Go wait in the truck until the grownups are finished talking, will you? Thanks.

Her assesment was based on a race where a Republican (ie, Democratic plant) dropped out at the last minute and was "persuaded....wink wink nod nod" to endorse the Democratic candidate rather than the independent. It was a joke of a race, and investigations will likely show some shenanigans. Pelosi is delusional and definitely out of touch. I think she will lose her seat before Obama is shown the door, and neither of them can happen too quick for me. the people are finally showing they are fed up with this liberal agenda BS.

The NY Conservative Party candidate in the 23rd district went from single diget popularity to within 5 percentage points of winning over a two month period. There's another election in the district next year. With full participation by voters in the primary, the results will be interesting. I look for the Democrats to extend unemployment insurance in January 2011, in anticipation of an increase within their party ranks.
