A Dr.Oz on Oprah's show asserts that we all need to cleanse our colons of the allegedly vast accumulations of accumulates sludge we have been collecting.

<<<Colon Cleanse With Dr.Oz on Oprah:

Dr. Mehmet Oz on the Oprah Show: "I mean, their bodies are screaming to them," Dr. Oz says of Susan and Maureen's health. "'Help me. Help me.' Their colon is saying, 'I need cleansing. And they're not processing it. We are the best health educated society in the history of mankind but we don't take information and use it to motivate us to change our behavior.">>>

This colon cleansing bunk is one of the most blatant items of false health care information now going the rounds. I had a colonoscopy recently and had to "ceanse" (blow out!) my colon, using a very powerful laxative. I took the opportunity to ask my gastroenterologist about all this stuff being put out on colons impacted with pounds and pounds of accumulated and impacted material, and he asured me it was pure bunk. I can assure you that I did not produce anything like the amount of stuff one is supposed to have stored up over the ages. Forget about all those herbal blow-out "remedies" and similar products and get over any notion at all that cleansing the colon will produce an instant weight loss by dislodging all the stuff you have collected and allegedly held on to for decades. Some of he quacks who promote these products actually claim that this weight loss will occur and be permanent. It just ain't so! Dr. Oz is no wizard--more like a QUACK!

I have been reading about this and was wondering if it was true. Thanks for sharing what you found out with us.

It is amazing how these people find a niche to prey on others! It is a shame that Oprah would allow this guy an audience. I would think she knows better.

Many quacks have peddled the cure all remedy for disease since recorded time began. And this colon cleansing is just another in a long line of false cures.

Dr. Oz is on Oprah a lot. He's one of her "pets."

Last summer i googled "colon cleansing" and some of the most hilarious stuff showed up. Numerous sites where people praised a product and talked about how amazed they were at all the things they "released".

:::Shudder:::evidently these people examined what was in the bowl before flushing....lol

If you have ever had a colonoscopy, you would know that it would be cheaper to buy that saline solution you have to drink..*yuck*..to get totally cleaned out for the procedure.
The TV colon cleansers are expensive.
Unless a person suffers from chronic constipation (which is usually caused by laxative addiction) drinking a lot of water...especially a large glass before bedtime..should keep your system flushed. JMHO

While I am not a fan of Oprah, Dr. Oz is a famous and incredibly gifted heart surgeon and I would listen pretty closely to anything he had to say.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Fleet soda ensures it all comes out in the end. Oprah falling for pseudo-science upholds an old hollywood tradition.

Dr. Oz specializes in cardiology but during the acquisition of his medical credentials he studied the environment in which the heart operates and is sufficiently knowledgeable and qualified to comment upon how other systems of the body interact. Google Dr. Oz and acquire some insite before you attact this man. I know that I would feel priviledged to have him attend to my health in the event that I needed such care.
