Why was this topic taken off. I think that an off duty deputy chasing someone in their personal vehicle and causing them to wreck is worth talking about.

Is the Deputy going to be punished for tailgating a person at over 100 mph puting the person in danger, himself, and may be others that were on the road. I respect anyone in law enforcement, but not the ones who think they can do anything they want because they have a badge or hide behind it.

I might be the one that this happened too and i feel like i'm being bullied by the system because i can't get it in the news. I can't get anyone to listen to me about it. If anyone might have any information that might help me get something done about it please reply to me and let me know. My court date is Nov. 3rd. Also, something no one has mentioned on this forum is that i also lost my job because of this. Thank you for the support.
I would be at the Sheriff's office everyday until something was done. It sounds as if the Dept. is letting this run its course until this is swept under the rug.

Yep. I'm sure the deputy has called the TV stations and newspapers and threatened to chase them in his personal vehicle and kick them in the head if they do a report on your case.
It's a conspiracy, I say!

Officer's are on duty 24/7...There is no such thing as a off duty officer. He may not have been assigned to a work shift that day but a good officer is always watching for the out of ordinary. I am sure the details will come out at trial.
Trader, your right law enforcement officials have a duty to act, however the way the deputy handled the situation is uncalled for and it could have caused someone to loose their life, and over what? why would the details come out in the trial? The deputy in question didn't charge the victim with anything.

I'm sure there are two sides to this story. We shouldn't indict this deputy based on what is reported in this forum.
