Fire and Rescue been completely forgotten in this story? Killen Fire and Rescue are among the latest unsung hero's, again.
I am not taking away from the grief of the Family and Friends of these victims at all. I am very sorry for their loss, and many people have thanked the multitudes of Rescuers involved in the recovery of these victims.
The efforts of these latest unsung hero's have been totally without benefit of pay, and are all strictly volunteer. These guys were the First to Respond to this accident. They were able to organize rescue VOLUNTEERS and were IN THE WATER within the hour of the first report of an accident. These guys are very loyal to their cause, and take their responsibilities very seriously. They are well organized and equipped (thanks to FEMA money). With valiant effort, they pulled the first victim from the water, as the news crews and paid personnel arrived on the scene. My hat is off for the Volunteers in this community for all of their Heroic efforts that seem to be overlooked by the TD.
Again, I am so very sorry for the Family and Friends of these victims. I applaud the efforts of Killen Fire and Rescue for having spared, at least The Hill Family, the agony of waiting days to find the One they loved so much! I think they deserved more recognition than they got.

Thanks, folks! There really are a whole lot more good people in this world than there are scoundrels. They just are so overlooked. But they are there, monitoring and responding to every call, day and night. And without monetary compensation. Them and their kind are the ones I want to know about.

Thanks Guys!! Can you tell? I have a family members that are some of those heroes. I know the sacrifices they make, and it bothers me that they (and many others just like them) give so freely, and barely got a mention in TD.

Mags -- if it weren't for ALL OF OUR LOCAL VOLUNTEERS our area would be in a world of hurt...we have some of the greatest, most loyal and devoted men and women that serve our communities without hesitation every day. Thank you for reminding us of that again...

Many thanks to all our unselfish volunteers that put their lives on the line to help others. Thanks also to the "paid personnel" They take on thankless, life threatening jobs with little reward. Just because they get paid some people assume O' THAT'S THEIR JOB..Can you possibly put a price on how much it cost to save a live....or risk losing yours.
THANK YOU KILLEN AND ROGERSVILLE VOLUNTEERS FOR WORKING SO HARD AND GIVING YOUR TIME TO SAVE THE LIVES AROUND YOU. ALL OF YOU ARE DOING AN AWESOME JOB.
