This is a photo of how I feel driving in the Shoals:

I hope this work. This is my first photo paste. (Thanks Monster)

I saw that poll online today, but they left out my "favorite" one. At least every other day a car will pull out in front of me--I'm going the limit and he/she is going 20 mph--so I have to slam on the breaks and waste precious gasoline to get going again. What are drivers thinking when they do that?

they think that they are the only ones on the road. and if someone happens to join them on their road, the other driver is less important. I've gotten to where I hate to drive. my pet peeve is folks waving drivers to turn left in front of them on 4 or 6 lane roads with no regard for traffic in the other lanes. if I'm ever involved in a courtesy wreck, you can bet your life I got turned in front of. I'll never trust someone else with my life or my car! I'd rather make the block...

Or don't you love it when they pull out in front of you like that only to turn again 20 feet down the road? You gotta think "why didn't they just wait for me to go by first?" But, noooo...they just have to pull right out there. Arrgggh!

I've got to go back to my basic peeve, cell phones. Going from Florence to Muscle Shoals every afternoon, at least 60% of the people (in both directions) have got their cell phone in their ear. You can usually spot them before they get close by the way they drive.

They're probably not thinking of anything. Or maybe pondering that vanilla is their favorite flavor.

Heck, Roofer. You should see the people here driving down the freeway READING A FRICKING NEWSPAPER while they're travelling at 70 mph in traffic.

Roofer, I'd love to be sitting around after Thanksgiving dinner at your house! I get the biggest kick out of your descriptions of everything. It'd be wild to hear you tell some real stories, lol! Big Grin

I've often said a small portion of the general public should be authorized to force people to take the driver's test again based on what we see in our commute.

Of course, I would be happy to serve in this role.

Roofer, if you have any spare time, you should write stories, maybe observational types. You have a great voice and I believe you could be the current day Mark Twain!
