Well, they one who mentioned his grandpa driving in the left lane on Sunday is like my own grandma. She thinks she will "slow down the ones who are going too fast". I explained to her that being someone else's speed bump was not very smart. You can't police everybody. Get in the slow lane and let em by you. Everybody will be happy and much safer. You only encourage road rage when you putt because you have no life and nowhere to be. This mentality is what is wrong with Florence!

When I visit I hate it as EVERYONE seems to do the following.
1. Not follow the slow/fast lane rule. 2. hang back enough in each lane to keep someone from passing without cutting someone off. 3. Take half a mile to get even close to the speed limit and then drive at least 5 miles below it. 4. Turn into a place and then stop or slow to a crawl. 5. Tailgate

I think #1 is the primary cause of #5 around here. Seriously, I'm not sure whether it's just people being inconsiderate and thinking they are the only ones on the road, or whether its as someone else mentioned, the people who are going to "make" everyone slow down to their desired speed. Either way, slow drivers need to get their slow butts over in the right lane and stay out of everyone else's way. The right lane is the "driving" lane, the left lane is the "passing" lane. Also, what about the people that can't seem to understand the concept of merging? My biggest pet peeve is people traveling north on Cox Creek and turning east onto 72. They have an entire lane to themselves separated from the other eastbound travel lanes by a solid white line (meaning other drivers cannot cross it) which starts at the intersection and continues for quite a distance. There is no, absolutely no, reason to stop and wait on the other travel lanes to clear at this intersection. No merging is required, or even allowed, until the solid line has been passed. Yet every time I am behind someone at this turn, they never fail to completely stop and wait until no cars are traveling through the light. I have waited for over a minute there behind people who can't seem to comprehend that they have their own lane. It starts there just for them. Ugggghhh.
