The Obama administration provides H1N1 shots for Gitmo detainees BUT falls short for American citizens. I am still waiting for my vaccine, how about you??

Don't trust the Obama administration enough to take one of these shots. Pass.

Wash your hands often and stay away from people that are sneezing. You'll be fine.

The fact that they are willing to give them to these pampered, catered to terrorist is sufficient to convince me...plus they gave them to the Obama children, nearly two weeks ago.

I think President Bush, in his Texas speak, called them "turrist" (sic) and Obama thought he said "tourist" and ordered them treated accordingly... Cool

So, you already have pronounced them guilty, have you? Do you hold the same view of all persons held in prison awaiting trial? Is arrest equal to conviction? Is imprisonment equal to guilt? A good number of Gitmo detainees have already been released because no good reason was found to cvontinue holding them. Presumably you would have declared them guilty as well. How un-American a spirit you display!

Of course they are not guilty, they have been detained at Gitmo because they are all Boy Scouts, pure as the driven snow and singers in the choir. They are looking for people to take them in, would you like a couple of these innocents dropped off at your house...?? You know, just until they are adjudicated innocent by a hand picked Obama tribunal... Roll Eyes

Beternu hasn't quite made the logical leap from "criminal" to "prisoner of war". The judicial concepts of guilty or innocent are irrelevant here. We can detain enemy combatants for the duration of hostilities. That may likely mean for the rest of their lives. Big deal. In any event, there are determination hearings ongoing to determine whether or not they should be detained. If not, they are repatriated. If they're wanted for a crime, they're surrendered to the jurisdiction wanting them. With some of the judicial systems involved, I expect they would want to stay in Guantanamo.

The post by SHELDIVR to which I directed my comments characterized Gitmo inmates as "pampered, catered to terrorist[sic]." Terrorists [note that I know how to form plurals] are criminals, are they not? Perhaps YOU have not "quite made the logical leap" from "terrorist" to "criminal."

Yep... many were released... and many went back to what they know best once released... TERRORISM. Yes... I have pronounced them guilty. I say we get what we can from em and broom em all... then King Barry can close GITMO if he likes. Wink

Now we have the answer--appoint YOU as judge, jury and executioner! By comparison, Judge Roy Bean would have been a model jurist!

Your whole concept of how to deal with enemy combatants is, well, skewed completely around. The concept of "guilty" is irrelevant. But then, that sort of thinking wouldn't fit your agenda, would it?
