Fadom takes a back seat to this story. Zac Etheridge was dealt a blow while trying to deliver one Saturday. Like dozens of times before, the big hitting safety shot in the backfield looking to make a big play on the Ole Miss running back. But the hit was Zac's helmet to his teammate Antonio Coleman's shoulder pad. The hit pushed Ethridge's head down, tearing ligaments in his neck and cracking his 5th veterbra. As he lay motionless, he called out to Jesus....and thankfully, He heard. But also hearing was Rodney Scott. The Ole Miss running back was pinned underneath Etheridge, and if he reacts the way so many do these days, by thrashing and shoving, then the injury could've been even more severe. Great awareness, and true class on the part of the young freshman(who ironically was once an Auburn commit). After switching his commitment to Ole Miss, I bet he never thought he'd receive the game ball in an Auburn victory. But he did on this day, and no-one was more deserving. This Auburn fan is now a Rodney Scott fan, and if karma is in play, he'll break every rushing record while @ Ole Miss.

Cable News Anchor Appeals to Ole Miss Students About Chant

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss has emailed to students a video of Fox News anchor Shepard Smith asking them not to chant "the South will rise again" at the end of one of the school's fight songs.

Smith says the phrase, considered by some to be racially offensive, "sends the wrong message about who we are" and will hurt the university.

The appeal comes after Chancellor Dan Jones said the fight song "From Dixie With Love" will be eliminated if fans continue to chant the phrase about the South.

Jones says fan reaction during Saturday's football game against Northern Arizona will decide the fate of the song.

I'm glad to hear he's doing well. It's very reminiscent of the Chucky Mullins story, which had a much sadder outcome. It's good to know this young man is walking again.
