CBS needs to get rid of these two announcers. They are both pathetic. Neither one has a clue what is going on in the game. At least once during every game they call one of the teams by the wrong name. Vern thinks a player can run 75 yards with the ball fumble at the goal line and it would be ruled an incomplete pass. This past Saturday Gary wants to give UT another chance to kick a field goal becauxe Mt. Cody pulled his helmet off to celebrate blocking the kick. Come on CBS your audience deserves better.

I totally agree. SEC fans deserve better. Gary seems to have problems separating college and pro rules. And they dont just mispronounce players names. They get the two schools playing wrong too. As far as Cody taking his helmet off... here is what an SEC spokesman had to say.

Because Alabama blocked and recovered the ball, Alabama had possession. The game can't end on a defensive penalty, but because of the possession change, Alabama wasn't on defense. This is what SEC spokesman Charles Bloom take it from here.

"The foul for taking helmet off is a live ball foul treated as a dead-ball foul," Bloom wrote in an e-mail Saturday night. "That is, if it happens on a play where time does not expire then the penalty is enforced on the following play. However since the clock ran out on that play, then there is no next play, so there is no penalty to mark off."

They constantly mispronounce names as well.
I think this week was the first time that they actually pronounced Rolando McClain's name correctly. I've heard several variations on his name.
Also, they called Julio Jones "Jewlio Jones" during a couple of different games this year and last year.
They've butchered Javier Arenas' name many times as well.

I heard Danielson apologized for getting it wrong later. He's actually starting to grow on me a little except when he's worshiping at the Church of Tebow. Verne was good in his day but its high time to give him a gold watch and send him to the house.

Bob Davie and Jones on the ESPN 2 telecast make Vern and Gary look like they deserve EMMYS!! Davie is absolutely terrible. He is as good as a color man as he was as Notre Dame's head coach. And his partner Jones was calling Chris Todd, Kodi Burns for an entire game.... just a slight difference between the 2... lol
