I do hope you went to that game, then you would have seen what really happened. Even Hamilton fans couldn't believe the actions of the referees, and this was from Hamilton fans at the concession stands making these statements. So they got their win. It was sad the way it came about though. Don't get me wrong, I congratulate Hamilton on the win. But like I said, it was sad.

What kind of genius blames a 35-0 first half beat down on the refs? I did go to the game and I saw an outclassed football team get it handed to them in every facet of the game. The score could've been MUCH worse except that Hamilton ran the football most of the second half, not to mention substituting heavily. Hamilton's wideouts scored at will against Sheffield's d-backs. That great team speed didn't seem so fast as Sheffield's secondary was chasing our receivers into the end zone. Then Sheffield attempts an onside kick after scoring a meaningless late game td. Hamilton should've put their starters in and scored again (and again). Maybe next time your no class coach Tucker will focus on his own team instead of running his mouth when his team clearly can't back it up. Hamilton was the class team last night and their coaches reflected the same.
I'm sorry if I hit a nerve with you toddrow. I said nothing derogatory about Hamilton's football team, but you made it a point to show what kind of class you have with your statements about Sheffield's ball players and their coach. That is really sad right there. I also never said Hamilton didn't play well. My statements were directed and made about the referees. Even quite a few of "your" Hamilton fans made the same comments. But at least the ones that made comments showed more class than you did in what you wrote in response to my post. And btw, Sheffield has, after every game, showed the class that they do have by lining the sidelines and singing their alma mater, WIN OR LOSE...now that's class

Maybe you should go back and read your own post. You implied Hamilton got the win b/c of the benefit of the officials. Tucker publicly disparaged our team in the paper. Our team answered with a beat down of the Bulldogs. The truth still remains that Hamilton could've scored 50, and Tucker kept his starters in long after it was obvious they couldn't win.
Is it really hard to believe a team on a 5-game losing streak couldn't commit so many penalties? The penalties were only a part of the many mistakes they made. They couldn't execute a simple toss sweep. Based on the game film we had on Sheffield, they ran a vastly different offensive scheme than normal.
What I said about the team itself was the truth, and said in response to Tucker's classless remarks. Hamilton was clearly a better team than Sheffield, and I'm not sure what makes stating the facts classless.
Finally, there are a million schools that sing their alma mater, win or lose, including HAMILTON. What's that got to do with anything? Just take your loss like a man and quit looking for someone to blame.
I know what my post said, thank you. There wasn't any "blame" being tossed. I was stating what many saw, including, (like I said earlier) quite a few Hamilton fans...I never said they won because of the benefit of the officials as you put it. So much for congratulating Hamilton as far as you're concerned. Other than you, hats off to Hamilton. Then again, maybe you are one of the officials Maybe you'll get lucky and play more teams in our region. And yes, three of those teams beat us, but they didn't go on here posting ridiculous statements like you. So therefore, this is a forum for peoples different views, which I did, and so did you. (Which really should be in the sports section of the forums) By the way, good luck with Region 8

Coach Tucker was being truthful when he said that Hamilton had not faced speed like his team. But for some reason, the coach left the speed on the sidelines instead of using it in the game, he had players standing on the sidelines that had great speed. Maybe it has to do with the new offense/defense coach that has come to Sheffield who doesn't seem to know how to relate to the players in a positive way and can't recognize talent if it hit him in the face. The players can only play when given the chance. When you have a coach that would rather punish a player than work with him to make the plays work, you'll never win. Yes, Hamilton played a great game and showed class, maybe someday the coaches at Sheffield will learn from other teams what it takes to win. Until then, they don't stand a chance!
Well, I was also at the game, and I saw a great deal of questionable calls on the referees' parts. But I was very pleased to see and hear the great decency with which the Aggie fans and band members treated Sheffield's AWESOME band, The Sound of the Shoals. They were treated to a standing ovation from the Aggie crowd and then many positive comments from fans and musicians alike following the halftime show. Seems the best Bulldog performance, once again, took place while Tucker had his boys in the locker room!
