The free film series NORMAN LLOYD AND FRIENDS: A LIFETIME OF INFLUENCE AND INSPIRATION continues at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, with screenings of three classic tales of terror and suspense at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library, 350 N. Wood Ave., downtown Florence.
The lineup includes the ALFRED HITCH**** PRESENTS thriller “Death Sentence” (1958), starring James Best, the searing TWILIGHT ZONE drama “I Am the Night, Color Me Black” (1964), a cautionary chronicle of vigilante violence starring Michael Constantine, George Lindsey and Paul Fix, and “The Return of Verge Likens” (1964), a vintage tale of vengeance from THE ALFRED HITCH**** HOUR starring Robert Emhardt, Peter Fonda and George Lindsey. The NORMAN LLOYD AND FRIENDS series honors the career of legendary actor, director and producer Lloyd (SABOTEUR, ST. ELSEWHERE, DEAD POETS SOCIETY), who will appear at the University of North Alabama on Oct. 27-28 for a pair of programs sponsored by UNA Distinguished Events and Pillar of Fire. Admission is free. For details, call the library at (256) 764-6564 or Pillar of Fire at (256) 366-4512, or e-mail pillaroffire@bellsouth.net. “A sickness known as hate; not a virus, not a microbe, not a germ – but a sickness nonetheless, highly contagious, deadly in its effects. Don’t look for it in the Twilight Zone – look for it in a mirror. Look for it before the light goes out altogether ....” – Rod Serling, from his introduction to the “I Am the Night, Color Me Black” episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE (1964) |

One time I tried to talk about a recipe that has those tiny little hot dogs in it. You know, the ones that are called something-tail weenies? I was censored in the same way that poor old Alfred's name was.
Maybe the censoring program could be modified to only **** that word if it is by itself and not a part of another word? ****tail weenies. That's a test. |

I was flabbergasted the first time I saw the censored version of the Master of Suspense's surname on these boards.

Well, that was very weird. I finished my last post, and it suddenly appeared with the unintended addition of the schedule for my student conferences at UNA. So, needless to say, just ignore everything after my signature and e-mail address -- unless you're just dying to know how you're doing this semester in Freshman Comp!

Echo..
You can go back to that post and click 'edit' and remove the extra stuff. In case your class mates don't want their names and appointments on here! |

Thanks! I never saw anything that said "edit" (much to my horror), but then I realized that I wasn't logged in ... All gone now! :-)
