Everybody Knows My Name

Does anyone else love their music a lot?

They are amazing and get so much respect despite not writing music or playing instruments but they have tons of hits

They and The Grassroots are two of my favorites, even though I was young (about 5) when they were popular. I have siblings several years older so I was exposed to some great music at an early age.

I had a My Space account and managed somehow to wind up with Chuck Negron on my friends list. We emailed back and forth for a while. I think he wrote an autobiography a while back.

Another group from that decade that is very underrated is The Monkees. They did some good stuff. One of Peter Tork's best friends lives in Florence, but I'm not sure who it is. I have some idea, but am not completely certain.

I LOVE The Monkees. Their music is great. I like lots of the bands that were making music in the 70's. One of my favorite sat radio stations is 70's on 7.

I loved Peter Noone. My cousin loved Bobby Sherman... he was (and still is) a cutie.

My favorite Monkees were Mike and Peter and from what I understand, they were the only 2 "real" musicians in the group.

Peter Noone, was one of my favs also! Peter still tours some. I have one of their(Herman's Hermits)LP's. Think it was the first album I bought, paid for with babysitting money. Still have one Grassroots album also, loved their music.

Although I can't remember any of their music, my uncle had alot of their 8-tracks when I was a kid.

I love all these bands/singers, too. I like Shambala and Out in the Country by Three Dog Night - Out in the Country being an early, pro-environment song.

TDB, I keep satellite radio on 60's, 70's or classic rewind most of the time. Smiler

Black and White was always a fun one to dance to. I think my favorite is Mama Told Me

Banned by the Black Sheep and the crazy Hats that took over the BOS Forum. I must be doing something right.

Out in the Country is beautiful.... one of the first songs we learned in band. I have it on my MP3 player, along with Eli's Coming, Black and White, and Old Fashioned Love Song (another one we learned in band).

My 14 year old loves 70's music.... always has. Thanks to me and her Dad she has very varied taste in music. She loves the 70's stuff, Southern Rock (her dad's influence), The Ramones (my influence), some country (my influence) and even likes some opera (again, my influence).
