What did you think? I noticed it's playing at Regency Square.

We saw it this afternoon. While it was pretty good it was no "Blair Witch Project" the characters were obivously actors and didn't have the realism of BWP. Part of the original hype of BWP was many thought it was real at some of the first showings. Paranormal Activity lacked the "realism" feel to me, although our 14 year old daughter who is a horror movie fan thought it was great.
We saw BWP at a drive in when it first came out. Before the movie started a couple of people in the concession line behind me was talking about the movie asking if either knew what it was about, they obiviously didn't know anything about the movie. I just turned around and said, "It's a true story with actual footage, it's all real" I always wondered what they thought after seeing it and how long it took them to learn it was a fake. |

It looks interesting to me. It's my understanding that the movie was made and marketed very much like BWP. I think the best horror movies are the ones where the ride through the movie is better than the payoff - like BWP. Just a good old campfire ghost story is better than gore and blood, in my opinion.
To that point, in Best Buy the other day, I saw The Texas Chainsaw Massacre DVD and remembered back to when I saw it for the first time. Not a predictable slasher flick, it has very few explicit bloody scenes; the terror is implied - a living nightmare. The acting is pretty good and the whole atmosphere of the movie makes it work. I'm not big on the horror films anymore, but I've plugged the movie now, so rent it if you've never seen it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Wild Irish Prose, |

I didn't know it was supposed to be compared to anything. Just from the previews it looks like it would serve it's purpose of scaring the crap out of you and entertaining you. I plan to see it this week when I get paid...I never saw Blair Witch Project until it came on TV, but it wasn't all it was promoted to be...I mainly got motion sickness from it...

OH someone tell me why they re-made "Children of the Corn" and completely changed the story line to make it more diverse and politically correct???? The original was terrific!!!! The one on SyFy was a waste of money, time and energy...

I think they remade the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too. And didn't Rob Zombie remake Halloween? I guess the writers in Hollywood are officially out of ideas.

.....That could be the case WIP. They could get a lot of material from the TDF. |

I think you're correct, Just.
Picture this..... From Wes Craven, the director that brought you A Nightmare on Elm Street (and all its 37 prequels and sequels), comes a new series of movies like you've never seen before. In a world where trolls trash the friendly forum meet and greets, Wes brings you: Meet & Greet Mayhem I: Congregation of Carnage Meet & Greet Mayhem II: Symposium of Slaughter Meet & Greet Mayhem III: The Genocide Gathering And depending on budget and ticket sales of the first three, you may get... Meet & Greet Mayhem IV: Taking out the Trolls (The Final Chapter) |
