I can't say I blame you. I guess we'll be reading about a lawsuit against this paper soon if they don't do something, tho'. Just some of the things I've read tonight made my jaw drop.

But of course. Where do ALL the residents have to go to get the real news for Northwest Alabama? I came for the forums. I know better than to expect to read anything in the TD if it sheds anything about our lovely area except sweetness and light. ,

Personally, I am very proud to say I am an Alabamian and a product of the Shoals area: Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals, and Sheffield specifically. I am sad that you are ashamed to be a Shoals product.

Reading through your ranting diatribe -- it appears that one of the main reasons you hate the Shoals is because of the great Christian influence there. This is one of the reasons I am very proud of the people of the Shoals area. I love telling folks that my home is in the Bible Belt -- and that my hometown, the Shoals area, is the belt buckle.

I do not see inbreeding, as you do, which causes a lack of intellect and culture -- instead, I see people grounded in the Word of God -- and stronger for it.

Maybe it is good that you live in the Glendale/Pasadena area (even though you claim Hollyweird) -- for we would not want to embarrass you in front of your Hollyweird friends.

Bill, I think you missed the entire point that Deep Fat was trying to get across....I do not know ANY of you but have enjoyed reading the forum daily for a long time...lately, it is disgusting and embarrassing to me to see some of the things that have been in print...certainly not newsworthy....childish and not even entertaining...mean and cruel..a total lack of entertainment...and far from being attractive for our area. I grew up in the Shoals and I love this area but this has been an embarrassment to me to say "this is my hometown"....this is not the way everyone in the Shoals acts but it sure appears that way to see such as this in print in the TD for others to see. Many, many individuals that do not subscribe to the TD read this forum and I can only begin to imagine what their opinion of our area is! Bill, have you been reading this forum? I see no way that your opinion of these "writers" could possibility be this high....just my 'two cents worth' and I'm sure that most of these "ill mannered" writers will say that I can keep that 'two cents worth' to myself...just couldn't help adding it!

I think the Chrsitian influence had little to do with Deeps statement. Reread it, Mr. Bill. It's the general mindset of the many of the people here who are resigned to being resigned, if that makes any sense to you.

I read for a long time before I ever posted anything. If I had read anything like what has been going on lately, I would've never joined. I swore when the ugliness started I would never post again, but here I am, hopefully putting in my last two cents, in defense of DF's statement.

Wow, bhuepque i'm soooo with you. I've been reading and wanting to join in for some time now and am nothing but scared. A group of mean drunks is nothing compared to some of the goings on I've read on this particular site.
