I am a local business owner who has advertised with the Times Daily newspaper in the past. Based on the recent free for all I've seen take place on their online site, I will take my advertising dollars elsewhere. In tough economic times, there is plenty of competition for my advertising budget to be associated with this Jerry Springer site.

I encourage all other advertisers on this site to do the same.

What a shame at the lenght SOME forum members will go. It is just amazing and CHILDISH at the lies and backstabbing that are taking place within this forum.

Call Scott Morris. Ask him whats going on.

It's an internet forum. What do people expect? The anonymity of the internet is a breeding ground for this type of bickering.

It's annoying, but you can just ignore it if it bothers you that bad. It's what I do. Kind of drastic to suggest pulling advertisements based on forum activities. Just my opinion though.

The mods are not dealing with the issue don't despair I am here. I noticed that the forum cult has a dude called col klink and a chick called legions that starting posting names of forum posters and also of some former forum posters. It was reported and ignored so the offended party took matters into their own hands and retaliated in a like manner. Probably not the most mature thing to do but when you are dealing a bunch of sneaky idiots you have to get on their level. Apologies to the mature audience who have to wade through this crap. Listen up, Moncrief---ANY talk forum operated by ANY small-town newspaper in this beknighted, right-wing sector of the land of the free is going to be full of the kind of "Jerry Springer" type stuff to which you object. It "comes with the territory."

But be advised that the kooks, geeks and rednecks who post here--as well as the sophisticated and erudite types such as yours truly--all have money and they all BUY STUFF or SERVICE from local businesses.

Evidently you have not learned one of the fundamental things about advertising, to wit, that EXPOSURE is what counts. Maybe you do not agree with or appreciate what is posted on these TD forums, but consider this: If you buy advertising space on a billboard, that space will be seen and read by all kinds of people who drive by. Some of them will be jerks. Some will be morons. Some will be criminals. Some will be perverts. Other will be kind, considerate, intelligent, morally-upright and thoughtful persons who are a credit to the community. You want your advertising to get to as many of these folks as possible, because when they come to do business with whatever business you operate, they will be spending money with you--money that you will be glad to receive, whether it comes from saint or sinner, genius or moron, geek or sophisticate. You want all that motley crowd driving along the highway to read your advertising on that billboard and to COME DO BUSINESS WITH YOU. The same principle that applies to billboards applies to newspapers, even to newspapers in small towns full of bozos who are ripe for the Jerry Springer Show!!

Me too. The next time I have a yard sale, I think I'll just make signs. To heck with paying them $45 to pay for an ad when they let folks get on here and talk about me like this.
