I have a question. I've been working out/dieting for the past month. I'm doing five days a week at the gym, 60 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training 3 times a week. For the last week every time I get through with my workout I feel so Nauseated and weak. I can barely stand up and it takes everything in me to keep from being sick. Why is this happening? Any Ideas?? Thanks.

Try potassium, it sounds like electrolytes are in short supply.

SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!!
You may be dehydrated, you may be suffering from a too-low potassium level, or any number of things. It is probably nothing serious, but you definitely need to see a doctor.

Thanks for your feedback, I was beginning to think nobody would post anything. I take vitamins everyday and I'm eating very healthy. I eat a banana a day and I know that's good source of potassium. I drink 5 16 oz bottles of water a day. Especially while I'm at the gym because I sweat so bad!! Honestly I wonder if that has something to do with it. I sweat worse than anyone I've ever met. It's almost embarassing to work out! But I definently get plenty of fluids. One of my friends said I may not be eating enough calories to suffice for my workouts. I'm on a 1200 calorie diet. I never eat under 1000 and never eat over 1500. And for the last bit of advice! You just lost a dollar, because if I'm pregnant, God has performed another birth miracle.

Talk to your doctor. I had some of your symptoms and was told that I was low on sodium, as well as potassium. Yeah, salt! My doc told me that if I was going to work out, I had to drink an electrolyte drink (like Gatorade) and take a salt tablet. I wasn't allowed to drink straight water for a few weeks until they got all of my chemicals balanced out. It was sort of like testing an aquarium or a swimming pool!!!! But seriously, it can cause kidney failure and even heart arrhythmias (nurses! is that the right spelling???), so please, go see the doctor.

You definitely need to talk to your doctor but here is what I would advise you to start doing. Split up your cardio and weight training. I would do 3 days weekly of weight training. Work out at a higher intensity for 45 minutes. Then do 3 days weekly of cardio on the alternating days. Do high intensity for 20 minutes. By working out every day your body is not getting the rest it needs to recover which can hinder your gains and work against you. If you can't do the alternating 3 day routine just alternate for 5 picking up on the new week with where you left off the previous week. You will end up doing 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training one week and 3 days of weight training and 2 days of cardio the next week and so on and so forth. Actually you burn more calories working out with weights so make sure to eat more calories on those days. You may want to up your calorie intake all together but that would be something to discuss with your doctor. Any more questions, just shoot me a PM.

I believe that your caloric intake is to low. 1200 calories a day is not enough to covert into the energy you need w/ doing an hour of cardio. It actually is not healthy to have your caloric intake that low. I used to work out 6days/wk for 2hours and actually increased my caloric intake due to burning so many calories. I was extremely healthy and was at 18% body fat for a female which is great! Please go to the doctor but also up your daily calorie intake----hense the reason you are probably feeling sick after workouts!
