Can anyone recommend a good psychiatrist with knowledge of medications and psychotherapy?

I am not sure such an animal exists in these parts. I do know of some to definitely avoid, though. Do they HAVE to be in this area?

I have personal experience with Roddy and have found him to be receptive to my opinions regarding medications which may or may not be helpful to me. I also like his laid back atmosphere and that of his office.

I say bleed your thoughts here on this forum and let us see if we can "fix" you. I believe with this forum of diverse ideas and combined life experiences you will be well advised. Of course we can't provide medications, at least not legal ones anyway.

I have been a social worker for over 25 years. The majority of my career was in Birmingham, but I have worked in the north Alabama region for the last 12. While there have been some great folks in the past - I would not recommend any of the ones currently working in the Shoals area. I would consider Huntsville or Birmingham.

I have friends and relatives who have seen several in Decatur and Huntsville and here. I've heard Roddie is trained in medicine and psychiatry and patients speak highly of him. Nurses at the hospital say good things too. Avoid Riverbend or the suboxone docs
