I am in search of a great gyno. Does anyone know of one in this area or do I need to branch out to Huntsville or Birmingham? I believe I have PCOS, but my gyno I see now and have for the past 10 years just does not seem to listen to my fears, she is a great doctor in every other regard except this and I need help. Thanks for any input!

FLORENCE OB/GYN! I have PCOS and fought infertility for years! Thanks to Dr. Woodford I have a beautiful baby boy! Dr. Allen and all three NPs are great too! They are WONDERFUL at this office!

(As far as I know--Dr. Woodford is the only local doctor trained in infertility....nearest one besides him is in Huntsville)

If you want a good gyno to see yearly and treat your PCOS you can find one in the area. I don't want to recommend one but MY advice is if you decide that you are ready to have a baby, don't waste your time with your gyno. Go directly to a doctor that deals with infertility. It would be like going to see your regular doctor for stent placement in your heart instead of an interventional cardiologist.

I had the same problem and would recommend Dr. Woodford. My best friend had a different fertility issue, but received successful treatment from Dr. Woodford also.

Dr. Woodford is an EXCELLENT doctor. If for some reason he isn't able to help you, he will refer you to someone that can. Please give him a try. I can confirm what has already been said about him.

Thank you! I will def. give Dr. Woodford a call. I'm not sure if I have PCOS, but I have a lot of the symptoms and I would like to know. Is the doctor a man or a woman? I know it sounds crazy but I have always went to a woman doctor and I do not know how comfortable I will be with a man gyno. Thanks again!

I kind of felt the same way before meeting Dr. Woodford the first time! Dr. Woodford is a man but he makes you feel comfortable! He is the greatest! I completely trust all five (two male docs, 3 female NPs) of them at this office and I would not consider going anywhere else!
