Help! My husband and I just moved here 2 weeks ago with our 1 year old daughter. I am looking for recommendations for a good GYN physician and also a good General Family Practice physician. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also am in need of recommendations for a hair and nail salon.
Thanks!

I also agree with Shoals Pediatrics for Pediatricians. They are open early morning hours on both Sat & Sun. Do you realize how many er trips this has saved me.

Welcome to the Shoals!
My suggestions are Dr. Woodford for OB&GYN; Dr. Danny Martin, Internal Med for adults. Dr. Hammond and Dr. Moore for peds (I suppose that is Shoals Pediatrics, my kids outgrew them).
Don't know one for Family Practice.

Thank you so much for the reommendations and the warm welcome! One more question. I believe there are 2 hospitals in the area. Is one preferred over another for emergencies?

It really just depends on who you choose as your doctors. If you go with Shoals Pediatric Group (We see Dr. Moore and she is absolutely wonderful and caring) you will go to ECM. They prefer ECM and I believe they only have rights there. I am not certain about that. I know there is atleast one pediatrician in the area that has rights at both hospitals... or he used to... but I prefer SPG! SmilerWelcome! And... it is true about the Saturday and Sunday walk-in appointments... there... it saved me an ER visit on Halloween. I just love that office!

Shoals Peds weekend clinics are awesome. I don't want to offend anybody or get into a big "thing" but the last place I would want to be with a sick child is an ER. Nuff said.
