NAMI of the Shoals Family Support Group, 765-2081. I have sat on some of their board meetings while involved with an organization that I belong to and they can help. Please give them a call.

Locate a good psychiatrist that will administer the appropriate tests to determine if Bipolar Disorder is the problem. There are several different types of Bipolar Disorders out there. If Bipolar is the diagnosis, the psychiatrist can administer and monitor medication that will help. It is very important to have this monitored due to some medications not working for the individual. If you need any more information please PM me.

Bipolarconnect.com is a very good site also.
Bipolar is a very hard thing to deal with, from the person who has it to the loved ones who deal with it on a daily basis. Giving support to your loved one is the most important thing to do after the person has been diagnosed. Not all pysichiatrist monitor their patients as they should, so keeping a close eye on the individual is very important. Some medications for bipolar, prescibed by Dr.s can actually make symptoms worse. One medication may work wonders for one person but make someone else more vulnerable to the mania(if present) phase. There are also different levels of bipolar. I wish the best for you & your family member.
