Last year my ac stopped cooling and would freeze up. Since it wasn't that warm and the season was almost over, I just stopped using. Now I need someone to check it out and fix whatever is wrong. Who is the most reliable and cheapest person? I don't want someone that will say I need a new a/c unless I REALLY do need a new one. Any recommendations, please give a brief reason why you are recommending them? Thanks

Probably have a refrigerant leak. If the unit is over 10 years old you will most likely be replacing it. They make a product that can stop small leaks in the system, but it will not work if it is dumping the refrigerant pretty quick.
I believe Unclegus is one of our resident HVAC experts. Send him a PM and I'm sure he can answer your questions.

Thanks. My wife posted this last night. I'll send Gus a note.
